Wine of the Week!

Nicolas Veuillatte Brut Rose`   $35        Veuillatte Brut Rose wine       [article image]

Ah, Valentine’s Day is near… and nothing says Love like roses. And we’ve got our own Valentine rose for you…actually make that Rosé.

Our wine of the week for this Valentine week is Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Rosé Champagne. It will be love at first sip!

This is a terrific sparkler with a salmon red color, delicate effervescent bubbles and the depth that comes from Grand Cru Pinot Noir. And at about thirty-five dollars it’s a true value for this quality of Rosé champagne.

This is a wine that surprises and is the perfect match to any Valentine. It is simply sumptuous. That’s the best word we can think of to capture what a sip is like, but with that wonderful tangy finish that the dry Brut style has.

It’s great by itself by the fire, or with a morsel of lobster at dinner, or even to finish the evening as the exclamation point. Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Rose’… a rose by another name!

Our Wine of the Week. Tell us what you think and…

Pop the Cork!

Winemaker's Notes and Comments

The signature of Nicolas Feuillatte; intense, impertinent pleasure! There is simply no other rosé Champagne like this cuvée from Nicolas Feuillatte. Blended from 90% red grapes with a dollop of Chardonnay, this wine explodes in the glass with vivid aromas and flavors of raspberry, strawberry and red currants.

WS 90 points - Weaves its tasty dried berry and herb notes through a dense, vivid structure

Nicolas Feuillatte created Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte in 1976 as an exclusive Reserve Champagne and remains the guardian of Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte's quality and style. In 1986, Nicolas Feuillatte created a partnership with the Centre Vinicole de la Champagne, the largest association of growers in Champagne, situated in the heart of the vineyards, near the small Grand Cru village of Chouilly on the outskirts of Epernay. Nicolas Feuillatte Champagnes are the exclusive issue of Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards and all cuvees are distinguished by the rich full expression of Champagne's unique terroirs

Notes on our Wines of the Week, Recommendations, and Picks:

When you read our thoughts, please remember that you may think differently.  A particular wine may be your favorite and not on our list.  Well, don't stop buying it because of that.  In fact, you may want to email us and let us know about it. These are our opinions but our FIRST recommendation is to go by your own palate.

A couple of other thoughts . . . first, prices are approximate.  They'll vary.  Second, different vintages mean different grapes and different tastes so our recommendation for a 2000 Merlot may not hold for 2001.

And lastly, we remind you to drink responsibly!  Now, all that said, here is a summary of  links to our suggestions.  Find one (or more) and pop the cork!

Read the fine print . . .

Wine consumption can have positive physical benefits or cause possible physical harm . . . the medical community is divided in some areas.  If you have any doubt, check with your doctor before consuming wine or any other alcoholic drink.

Our information is well researched.  Recommendations are based on our opinions at the time of publication.  At the same time, recommendations change.  Also, there may be significant variance in taste depending on storage, shipping, and other factors.
