Wine of the Week!

Chateau D'Issan 2003 Margaux  $40   Listen about Wine
Chateau D'Issan Margaux Wine
Well, we’re here with another great Wine of the Week:  Chateau D’Issan 2003 Margaux.

This is a well priced, approachable and likeable wine from a region known for wines of subtlety and finesse.

Blending Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot makes the ’03 D’Issan a concentrated and jammy treat for such youthful Bordeaux.  Splash it into a decanter to open it up a bit for the mouth pleasing effect

The warm vintage year baked in the ripe full flavors of black raspberry and plum that dash out of the glass.

It’s built as a true fine food companion… a partner with rack of lamb or a juicy piece of prime rib.  And it’s also a wine for the times, ideally suited to pop in the gift bag on the way to the open house.

At about forty dollars this is a stylish and elegant journey to Margaux and one of the Cru Class chateaux wines of Bordeaux.

Notes on our Wines of the Week, Recommendations, and Picks:

When you read our thoughts, please remember that you may think differently.  A particular wine may be your favorite and not on our list.  Well, don't stop buying it because of that.  In fact, you may want to email us and let us know about it. These are our opinions but our FIRST recommendation is to go by your own palate.

A couple of other thoughts...first, prices are approximate.  They'll vary.  Second, different vintages mean different grapes and different tastes so our recommendation for a 2000 Merlot may not hold for 2001.

And lastly, we remind you to drink responsibly!  Now, all that said, here is a summary of  links to our suggestions.  Find one (or more) and pop the cork!
