Chianti
Classico
When you
look at Chianti's on the shelf, you'll see more bottles than you
can imagine.
Well
with so many choices, how do you know what to pick?
Price
is always a factor, but all things being equal, then what?
It's
a personal preference, but we recommend sticking with Chianti
Classico.
This
is the largest, generally most consistent area in Tuscany
with hundreds of vineyards
making Chianti Classico. Their style is dry, a little tart with
an earthy aroma and some berry flavors.
The
Reserva's are considered the best by the winemakers and are aged
longer before being released.
Besides
the words Chianti Classico on the label look for a black rooster
on the neck band . . . the symbol of the region's growers' consorzio
or voluntary quality association.
Pasta,
chicken, veal, pizza . . . bring 'em on!
For
versatility and value Chianti Classico is classic. You'll find
it at all price levels from six to sixty dollars.
