Cobb
Salad Matchups
Here's a great
matchup - one of our favorites because this food is a real luncheon
staple - the classic cobb salad.
Cobb Salad has
a mix of ingredients that seem to let a lot of classic white wines
shine. Riesling matches with its dash of spiciness and hint of sweetness.
It seems to draw out the grilled chicken and bacon flavors.
Sauvignon Blanc
has a zing that complements the creaminess of the cheese and avocado.
That somewhat herbaceous flavor is almost like another ingredient
mixed into the salad. And to keep it as fresh tasting as the salad
greens, go with pinot grigio.
Then there's
viognier. We just love its dry crispiness and floral accents. But
let's not forget chardonnay. If there's one variety of wonderful
whites that can pull together that classic Cobb Salad its full flavored
American chardonnay.
Classic Cobb
and classic whites - now that's wine and food matching.
