Florence
Wine Culture
An
Update from Ken in Florence
I’m
reporting in from one of the most magical wine places on earth…
Tuscany and the
beautiful renaissance city of Firenze
- Florence. And while Florence
is best known for magnificent art and sculpture, it captures
the essence of the wine culture of Tuscany.
It’s
here that the wines from the sangiovese grape find their fullest
expression.
From
the Chianti of the Classico district to the elegant Brunello
of Montalcino and silky Vino Nobile of the vineyards of Montepulciano
closer to Siena,
there’s something wonderful to try each evening.
Last
night we went purely authentic Tuscan and enjoyed Brunello sipped
along with paparadelle pasta in a rustic meat and truffle sauce.
On almost every block here in Florence
there are cozy trattorias.
Whether
in the shadow of the famed Duomo or in the quite neighborhoods
like Santo Spirito, wine and food are part of the fabric of
life in this great city.
Grab
some Tuscan wine, think about visiting Florence,
and …
Pop the cork™.
