Great White Chardonnay

Here’s another great white that Ken and The Wine Experience would like to share with you.  In fact maybe the greatest white wine of all… Chardonnay. 

Chardonnay is the most popular and widespread white wine in the world.  It’s grown and made in virtually all the major wine regions.  This means there are many different styles to choose from… but all share wonderfully fruity flavor. 

Tropical fruit flavors like pineapple and melon are often what you notice in warm climate versions.  Spicy apples or zesty lemon show up in those from cooler growing regions.  Some are buttery tasting while classics like French Chablis are leaner.

New world “chards”, those from the US, Australia and South America tend to be more full bodied and fatter tasting than the ones from Burgundy… the historic home of Chardonnay.  You can almost even taste the sunshine in them.

At its best Chardonnay is complex and elegant which is why it’s such a terrifically versatile food wine… and the ideal partner for seafoods or poultry.
