Wine of the Week!
Three Thieves 2005 Jug Zinfandel $9
Hold on to your horses ‘cuz we’ve got a wine of the week for you that will be a runaway hit… Three Thieves 2005 Jug Zinfandel. That’s right… JUG Zinfandel.
This is Ken’s personal pick for Super Bowl Sunday, a jammy, fruity, peppery spicy jug of Zinfandel straight from California.
It’s easy to spot bottled in the one liter clear glass jug and easy to buy for about nine bucks! Best of all is how easy and fun it is to drink.
This is real wine, not some packaging trick. Three Thieves set out to bring us drinkable and affordable premium everyday wines. Its great just to sip and the right match for party foods and California Zinfandel is as all American as, well, football.
So steal away some Three Thieves 2005 Zinfandel and get some jugs in for the game.
When you twist that screwtop say “Pop the Cork™” for us.

Winemaker’s Notes and Comments:
On a mission to bring the joy of wine to the masses, the Three Thieves headed out for the territory—the Lodi territory that is—famed for producing Zinfandel, the all-American grape. There they found excellent sources for their precious jug o’red. Thief/winemaker Joel Gott then took a little side trip to adjacent Amador County to put a little Gold Country spice into the blend. To keep the snobs away, the wine is bottled in a retro, 1 liter, clear glass jug.
Winemaking:
The wine is infused with French and American oak and underwent full malolactic fermentation for a rich, velvety texture. Tasting Notes
Three Thieves California Zinfandel is dark red with purple tones. Aromas are classic raspberry, blackberry, and spice, strongly echoed on the palate. Soft tannins add complexity and structure. Zinfadelicious with any kind of food.

Notes
on our Wines of the Week, Recommendations, and Picks:
When you read our thoughts,
please remember that you may think differently. A particular wine
may be your favorite and not on our list. Well, don't stop buying
it because of that. In fact, you may want to email
us and let us know about it. These are our opinions but our
FIRST recommendation is to go by your own palate.
A couple of other thoughts . . . first, prices
are approximate. They'll vary. Second, different vintages mean
different grapes and different tastes so our recommendation for
a 2000 Merlot may not hold for 2001.
And lastly, we remind you to drink responsibly!
Now, all that said, here is a summary of links to our suggestions.
Find one (or more) and pop the cork!
