One of the hottest and coolest wine regions in the world is New Zealand - and we’re not talking about the weather. We’ve got two New Zealand wines to be on the lookout for.
The star is Sauvignon Blanc, and the up-and-comer is Pinot Noir.
Now New Zealand isn’t a very big place and in the whole scheme of things they don’t send us much wine. But some really good Sauvignon Blanc are readily available and the Pinots are starting to show up on more shelves too.
The Pinot Noir have a bright fruity taste… kind of like cranberry with just a hint of spiciness. They’re not as plummy and ripe tasting as their California cousins.
The Sauvignon Blanc have a distinctly grassy and herbal crispiness… or is that kiwi you taste! And with either don’t be surprised to see a screwtop on the bottle.
These wines are made to be opened and enjoyed with no waiting. So, why wait?
Pop the cork™.
