Thanksgiving Reds, Sangiovese, Zinfandel & Pinot Noir: The Wine Experience

Let’s talk turkey! Actually, let’s talk turkey and wine! We’re talking turkey with red wine choices.

Make your Thanksgiving wine choice by taking the whole meal into consideration. A lot depends on your own special way of setting the table., but here are some real turkey friendly choices:

Jammy California Zinfandel, with its fruity big taste is a great choice with giblet gravy.
A bright and acidic Sangiovese or Chianti Classico pairs up nicely with turkey and my family favorite stuffing made with sausage and sage.
Pinot Noir – super versatile and a great food partner.

Pinot’s silky texture and the berry-like flavors seem custom made for just about any of the side dishes… from the green bean casserole to the sweet potatoes to the cranberry sauce. It’s like another ingredient to the meal.

The point is Thanksgiving dinner offers so much food variety you can just pick the wine you like best!
